Charms are equipable items that can be bought from Porkrind's Emporium. They are supposed to help in a way like adding health.
List of Charms
"Your first parry move doubles as a damaging axe attack."
"The first parry move is automatic — all you need to do is jump."
The Parry Sugar charm makes it so if the player(s) jump, then the player(s) will automatically parry. Useful for bosses with parryable objects in tough spots like Ribby and Croaks. In plane fights, it will extend the parry window so it will be easier to parry stuff with less risk of getting hit, the parry animation is unchanged but it will cycle twice instead of once. Sometimes, when attempting a parry with this charm equipped, you may get hit by the parry-able object, but will still parry said object. This usually happens when there is a very tight space between the player and the object.
"You will not take damage during a dash. A great defense maneuver."
- It's very useful in King Dice's battle: especially in Hopus Pocus and Pirouletta's battles.
- It may help a lot in getting P ranks on Run n' Gun levels, especially in Funfair Fever.
In plane fights, when shrinking or returning to normal size, the Smoke Bomb will activate for a short time, this might help player(s) dodge stuffs that may directly hit them without being invincible.
"Super meter continuously fills -- in addition to what you earn."
The Coffee charm will automatically fill the super meter, without you doing anything. It can be a useful way to defeat tough bosses quicker, and is a good replacement for the smoke bomb charm on aerial bosses like Wally Warbles. For every second, the meter fills by 4%, taking 25 seconds to fill one card completely.
"Adds two additional hit points but weakens your attack power."
StrategyThe Twin Hearts charm is an upgraded version of the Heart charm. While the damage reduction is greater, the two additional hitpoints are very useful. If one decides not to take Smoke Bomb on a boss, Twin Hearts can be a valuable replacement. On King Dice, the player can get upwards of 8 health with the Twin Hearts charm.
"Adds an additional hit point but lightly weakens your attack power."
The Heart charm can be a good replacement for the Smoke Bomb charm on aerial bosses such as Wally Warbles and Cala Maria. The 5% damage reduction is negligible considering the usefulness of the extra hitpoint. Because of that, it makes the fights a little longer, but is good for amateur players. It may be good to try doing this charm on Expert to gain skill at dodging the obstacles.
